Snow lovers and mountain enthusiasts, get ready for a warm-up before the official start of the season! This weekend, Avoriaz opens its slopes early, giving you a preview of the snowy delights that await you this winter.

Come back on the slopes
The snow conditions, along with the work of the SERMA teams, the company managing the ski lifts of Avoriaz, allow for an early opening of the Avoriaz ski area this weekend, December 6th and 7th, 2025.
Partial opening of the Arare, Chavanette and Lindarets sectors, as well as a connection to the Châtel ski area.
Special rates are available for this week-end.
- Single rates: €26.00 for a day pass and €48.00 for a weekend pass.
- 15% discount on Portes du Soleil skipasses
- Season passes are of course valid from the pre-opening!

Safety
With heavy snowfall throughout the week, snow depths are unusually high for the season and the snowpack remains very unstable. The avalanche risk is high and will remain elevated this weekend. Off-piste skiing is strongly discouraged.

Ticket offices:
- Lower station of the Prodains cable car: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM —> Locate the ski pass sales desks.
- Upper station of the Prodains cable car / Avoriaz Mountain Area administrative building — open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. —> Locate the ticket offices.
- Central station ticket office: 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM —> Locate the ski pass sales desks.
- Ardent ticket office: PLEASE NOTE: as work on the lower station at Ardent is currently being completed, access to the ticket office will be difficult, so please purchase your tickets online. Top-ups are immediate, and if you do not have a hands-free card, a quick pick-up box for your pass will be available on site.
Previously purchased season passes are valid for the pre-opening.
Access to Avoriaz:
- Avoriaz center.
- Access to the ski area via the Prodains cable car.
- Access to Ardent Cable Car
The parking in Avoriaz, Ardent and the Prodains parking will be free for the occasion.
⚠️ Station traffic information:
- Overnight parking is prohibited in the station.
- Skiers will be directed to the covered parking lot (free for this event).

Prodains cable car

Located down in the Morzine valley, the Prodains Express cable car takes you to the resort of Avoriaz 1800 in just 4 minutes. You'll find an outdoor car park right next to the cable car.

Unique for its mimetic architecture, the resort was designed in the 1960s with an avant-garde approach. Cars are not allowed in the resort, and the streets are completely covered in snow. This event kicks off the winter season in Avoriaz. Rock On Snow is the perfect opportunity to test the latest ski, snowboard, and accessory models for free and before anyone else. It’s the event with the widest selection of gear. At Rock On Snow, you can experience all the season’s new releases firsthand. For three days, you can ride, test equipment, meet pros, and celebrate the start of winter!
