Burton
We’ve all experienced the difficulty of attaching our snowboard bindings, sitting in the snow and last in the group. It’s a real obstacle to learning and enjoying snowboarding. So it was imperative to innovate in this area.
The Burton teams dedicated 5 years to research and development. After multiple versions and extensive feedback from riders, Burton’s Step On® bindings and boots were officially launched in 2017! Burton’s Step On makes snowboarding faster, easier, and more comfortable, much to the delight of riders.
Step On, What is it ?
The Step On system consists of boots and bindings specially designed to be used together. With this system, the boot is securely attached to the binding through three locking points: two front cleats and one at the heel. Positioned at the front of each boot, the front cleats align perfectly with Burton’s Step On front hooks, ensuring a secure fit. Simultaneously, the heel cleat of the boot locks into the rear hook of the binding, using the same principle as a ratchet buckle. Additionally, a release lever on the heel of the binding controls the rear hook for quick and easy entry and exit.
In simpler terms:
Putting on your Step Ons is a breeze in three easy steps:
-
Insert the heel: At the back of the boot, there’s a small cleat with two positions; this is the first connection point, securing the boot to the heel of the binding. Simply place your foot in the binding and apply pressure to the heel of the boot until you hear a click. Then, press even harder until you hear a second click.
-
Lock the toe: Once the heel of the boot is locked, apply pressure to the toes. The front cleats should click and engage with the hooks on the sides of your bindings, and there you go – you’re locked in! Press on each side to ensure both cleats are securely locked.
-
Start riding!
In summary, 1. Heel. 2. Toe. 3. Ride!
