It’s your first summer in Avoriaz and you want to make sure you don’t miss anything? Don’t worry, we have selected the 10 best things to do, in the resort, in summer!

It’s time for you to make some great memories to share with your partner, family or friends… don’t miss out!

#1 Meet the Marmots

Take the time to discover the fauna and flora of Avoriaz thanks to our many footpaths. With more than forty walks between ridges, forests, passes, mountain pastures, views of Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi, there is something for everyone!

Friends hikers, a piece of advice, go for it, this activity will allow you to discover the resort from a new angle!

Tips : you want to meet the Marmots of Avoriaz ? We advise you to go hiking with Cécile. She is a mountain guide and offers guided hikes from Avoriaz. Discover the marmots, the wild plants and their uses, the lakes and summits of the Chablais. 

#2 Take the high ground with our via ferrata

Do you want to have a thrill? We have just the activity for you: the via ferrata!
Climb up the side of the cliff thanks to the ladders, and discover Avoriaz and its atypical architecture! This unique sport has definitely become a must-do in Avoriaz.

Tips: if you have never done this activity before, it’s best to be accompanied by a guide.
We advise you to leave around 6pm with a small snack in your backpack to enjoy the sunset!

#3 Eat a cheese crust

Do you know what a cheese crust is? It’s a traditional dish from the Alps that takes the form of slices of bread soaked in white wine, topped with local cheese and then baked.
Nothing better than a good crust to regain your strength 😉

Holidays in the mountains = cheese!

Tips: Want to impress your guests when you get back from holiday? We recommend making them a cheese crust with cheese from the Ferme de Séraussaix (sold directly at the farm or online)! Success guaranteed.

#4 Try mountain biking

Even in summer, the lifts are working. Come and try your hand at one of the biggest bike parks in Europe and ride down our trails, which have been completely redesigned to accommodate mountain bikers.

E-bike, enduro or DH (DownHill), the possibilities are several! With friends or family, our mountain bike trails will take you on a journey between France and Switzerland! With steep turns and varied slopes, there’s something for everyone and every level!

Tips: hire a guide! He or she will be happy to show you the most beautiful parts of the Portes du Soleil. Whether alone, in a group, for a half day, a full day or even several consecutive days, the courses and prices are adapted to your needs. 

#5 Discover an unusual show at the Goats’ Village!

Don’t miss the Goat’s Village in the Lindarets. A unique experience for children and parents too! This bucolic hamlet of The Lindarets gives an important place to goats. Here, they are at home!

In the summer, they wander through the alleys, drive around, take a break for a photo and claim their rewards: treats bought on the spot by visitors. Laughter guaranteed!

Tips: make sure you leave some time for a gourmet break. On sunny terraces, you can enjoy local cuisine under the watchful eye of the goats, who try their luck behind the wooden fences.

#6 Cooking in the heart of the forest!

Do you know the Lil’Statsh? This enchanted forest hides our Yeti Shreddie. He has been living in one of the perched huts for over 10 years. Children are king here!

It’s the ideal place to spend a good time with your family. A gas BBQ, picnic tables, but also hanging bridges, slides, ropes, sculptures and hidden games in the heart of the Proclou forest are at your disposal.

Tips: access the Lil’Stash by bike or on foot!

#7 Enjoy our tropical bubble at 1800m

Imagine yourself with family or friends in a tropical paradise bathed in natural light and surrounded by lush vegetation.
The aquariaz offers you several pools filled with water at 30°C, a water tree, slides, a rock climbing wall, flowing rivers, massaging bubble baths, an outdoor jacuzzi and a Slidewinder (for extreme sliding sensations). 

Dabblers and adventurers, Aquariaz is the place for you!

#8 Take a dip in Lake Montriond

What if you took a dip in one of the most beautiful lakes in Haute Savoie?

Lake Montriond nestles at the foot of immense vertiginous cliffs, waterfalls and forest, perched at an altitude of 1072 metres. It is true that the contrast is striking, as the mountains and fir trees are reflected in the water. In fact, the colour of the water is truly emerald green, like a precious stone! 

Swimming, hiking or even BBQing, it’s the perfect place for a day in the mountains!

Tips: you should definitely paddle or canoe on the lake! It’s a great way to get away from it all.

#9 Reach the top

Fly like a bird, feel the wind on your face and soar above the most beautiful landscapes of the Chablais! All these sensations await you. Fly with a qualified instructor above the village of Morzine and discover the Chablais from the sky! With a bit of luck, you may even spot a few chamois. 

Keep your eyes open and admire the landscape around you! The Mont Blanc will give you a little peek 😉

Tips: take the photo/video option with your monitor! You will leave with a lot of memories.

#10 Waterfall of Brochaux

This haven of peace is located not far from the village of Les Lindarets. Accessible on foot or by mountain bike, this very pleasant and easy walk will allow you to discover the beautiful waterfall of Brochaux. Signs indicate the point of interest along the way. For photo enthusiasts, this is the perfect spot for you!

Tips: the raclette restaurants and other mountain specialities in the village of Les Brochaux are worth a stop 😋
