5 walks around Avoriaz

It’s time you get some fresh air and you put on your hiking shoes ! The nature and freedom lovers are going to be satisfied by the mountains, forests and the verdant valleys.
Today, we propose to you the 5 most wonderful hikes around Avoriaz. On the programme, breathtaking landscapes, a meeting with the flora and fauna and discovery of our heritage.

#1 Mountain Pasture of Morzinette 

This tour, located at the foot of the Hauts Forts, contains an exceptional flora and fauna ! Go discover the secret mountain pasture of Morzinette. A haven of peace on the side of the mountains where a few traditional chalets, only accessible by foot, spread in front of a vast panorama.

Here, nature is protected. Take advantage of this hike to smell the sweet scent of the fireweed, of the meadow’s queens and many more. It is 7 km of a guaranteed change of scene ! 

#2 The Lappiaz mines, Lil’Stash and the seraussaix farm 

This 6-km tour will make you discover Avoriaz’s history and terroir. Learn more about the slate of Morzine thanks to explanatory boards settled along the route. The Lappiza Mine was exploited between 1956 and 1963.
The route crosses the Lil’Stash, a little heaven on earth for kids to play. It is a very unique place
with tree houses.

Tips :

• Depending on what time it is you can attend the making of cheese (tomme and reblochon) at the Séraussaix farm, buy some and even have a snack. 
• When you return you deserve a week deserved break at the golf’s Club House in order to have a drink in front of a breathtaking landscape.

#3 The Chavanette Lake 

It is an easy and short walk. This previously unseen route not only offers a beautiful panorama of Avoriaz, but also leads the hikers to the French-Swiss frontier. At the top, you will be able to enjoy a wonderful view of the Mont Blanc and of the Dents du Midi mountains.

Stay alert ! We often meet a few marmots !

#4 The Crest of Super-Morzine

This 11 km circuit offers you an outdoor walk and you might be able to observe some chamois ! Depending on the season, keep your eyes open, we easily find chanterelles and blueberries anon the way.

It is undeniably a beautiful hike in every way that starts. The path keeps going along the crests of the lake of Montriond.

Taking a break in the restaurants of Super-Morzine is a must to savor the famous cheese crust, the chanterelle omelette or even the blueberry pie.

#5 The Head of the Lindarets

This route will enable you to admire the lake of Montriond and the most beautiful mountain tops
around : the Grange Mountain, the Mont Blanc, the Dents du Midi mountains… The circuit is technically easy, but it is not flat… Don’t forget a hat, the sun is beating down !

The marmots’ whistling will satisfy the nature lovers.

Tips : take a break at the restaurant near the Brassachaux col. It proposes specialities of the Savoy region : a nice pretext to take a break and to built up your strength before continuing the
hike !
