The Avoriaz and Portes du Soleil Bike Park is a dream destination for downhill mountain biking enthusiasts, offering varied trails and thrilling experiences. However, to ensure your safety and make the most of your experience, it is essential to follow certain recommendations and safety rules. 

 

Basics

Protect Yourself: Wearing a helmet is mandatory; a full-face helmet is highly recommended. Wearing a back protector and/or chest protector, knee pads, elbow pads, and gloves is also recommended for your safety.

Follow the Signs: Stay on the marked trails, which are specifically designed for bike park users. Avoid taking shortcuts. Also, respect private property and grazing areas.

Respect Others: Assist the lift staff in loading and unloading your bike. / Stay vigilant and aware: downhill bike park users have the right of way. / Before entering a trail intersection, be sure to look both ways. / Signal before overtaking, clearly indicating on which side you intend to pass. / Do not stop on the track. Avoid staying in the middle or behind a feature; always make sure you are visible.

Before hitting the trails, it is highly recommended to hire a certified instructor. A professional can guide you on riding techniques and help you choose trails suited to your skill level. Do not enter the bike park without a good understanding of the trail difficulties and basic riding skills. 

Regulations for Children’s Equipment

For safety reasons, certain equipment is not allowed on the lift systems and trails of the bike park:

  • Front seats (such as shotgun and similar types)
  • Baby seats
  • Baby carriers
  • Trailers

These devices are not suitable for downhill mountain biking and do not provide the necessary protection for passengers in the event of an incident. Their use is strictly prohibited in the Avoriaz bike park to ensure the safety of all users.
